Joi Tillman
President, Group Benefits

Joi Tillman oversees Sun Life’s U.S. Group Benefits business, which includes life, disability, absence management, supplemental health, dental and vision insurance products for employers. Joi is a strategic innovator who continues to expand the company’s health solutions that broaden access to care and simplify benefits, helping people close coverage gaps and achieve better health outcomes. 

Her 35 years of experience in the group benefits marketplace has resulted in deep distribution relationships and an understanding of how to leverage technology to support business growth. 

Previously, Joi was Chief Commercial Dental Officer, overseeing growth and market expansion for Sun Life’s group dental and vision products, including the integration of commercial dental solutions resulting from the acquisition of DentaQuest in 2022. 

Prior to her role in Dental, Joi was vice president, Voluntary, Dental & Vision, managing supplemental health, and dental and vision products, and overseeing benefits administration and enrollment capabilities. Joi has been continuously involved in ongoing digital strategy and business development efforts, including new solutions and partnerships.

Before joining Sun Life, Joi was senior vice president, Voluntary, at Assurant Employee Benefits (AEB). During her 25+ years at AEB, she held several leadership positions in other areas of the business, including underwriting/risk management, operations and human resources. 

Joi attended University of Missouri Kansas City. 

Michele McCormick
General Counsel

As General Counsel, Michele brings over 25 years of insurance industry experience to her role. Michele oversees a team responsible for providing legal and compliance guidance to the various functional areas of our business. She and her team provide advice related to contracting, regulatory filings, and compliance with various state and federal rules governing our business.

Prior to joining FullscopeRMS in 2017, Michele spent over 25 years working in Liberty Mutual Insurance Company's Corporate Legal and Compliance departments as a trusted executive manager and legal advisor to all areas of the insurance business, including reinsurance, litigation, regulatory matters, licensing and compliance. Michele also spent two years as Vice President of Liberty Mutual's Group Benefits Claims Operation, successfully managing the STD and LTD operations.

Michele is a graduate of LeMoyne College and has a JD from New England Law. She is a member of the MA and NY bars.

Dan Powers
Head of Business Development and Client Management

As Head of Business Development and Client Management, Dan is responsible for driving growth strategies for the FullscopeRMS business and ensuring successful partnerships with all our clients.

Dan brings extensive distribution experience that he's developed over the past 15 years in the Group Insurance business. Prior to joining FullscopeRMS, Dan led Sun Life's national broker and consultant Relationship Management team and was responsible for developing new strategic alliances to drive growth. In addition, Dan was a National Accounts (2,000+) sales manager, with responsibilities for approximately one-third of the U.S. territory. Dan also served as a Senior Stop-Loss Sales Specialist in Sun Life's New England territory and joined Sun Life as a Group Sales Representative in 2004. 

Dan has a B.A. in Political Science from Holy Cross and an MBA from Boston College.

Gabe House
Head of Disability, Absence and Life

As Head of Disability and Life, Gabe is responsible for continued growth, profitability and delivery of high-quality services for our clients.

Before joining Disability RMS in 1999, Gabe has held various management positions in Underwriting and Operations. In these roles, he developed a keen knowledge of each client's markets and goals.

Gabe executes strategies to enable clients to quickly gain entry and increase market share in the employee benefits marketplace. His expertise in creating efficient workflows ensures cost-effective, superior client service.

Gabe has more than 20 years of experience in the group insurance industry. Before joining the FullscopeRMS team, Gabe was an Underwriter with Unum.

David Stefanski
Head of Stop-Loss

As Head of Stop-Loss, David is responsible for driving the execution of our complete suite of turnkey stop-loss offerings, and for helping our health plan partners to profitably grow their stop-loss businesses.

David  joins us from Trustmark Benefits, where he served in a number of key positions over the last 24 years, most recently as the Executive Director and Actuary for the company’s Small Business Benefits division. During his tenure at Trustmark Benefits, David made many significant contributions to the business including improving stop-loss reserving models; pricing and implementing new benefit enhancements and rates for level-funded stop-loss product offerings; and improving statutory calculations and analysis of group medical, disability and life claim reserves.

David is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).  David holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.

Kathy Serunian
Head of Claims

Kathy joined FullscopeRMS at the inception of the company—then called Disability RMS—and was present for our first claim in 1994. As the founder and leader of our claims organization, Kathy provides strategic and operational leadership of the claims organization which is recognized as one of the best in the industry. In her role, Kathy leverages our expert resources and infrastructure to deliver superior claims risk management services.

Kathy has more than 35 years of group insurance experience. She started her insurance career with Unum Reinsurance where she held various claims management positions and is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine.

Jennifer Collier
President, Health & Risk Solutions

Jen Collier is stop-loss and self-funding executive with a passion for health and wellness. As senior vice president of the largest independent stop-loss provider in the country, Jen oversees all aspects of the Health & Risk Solutions business, including care navigation services, product development and strategy, data analytics, product pricing, underwriting, distribution and claims. Her extensive expertise in both clinical and business management helps Sun Life's self-funded employer clients and their employees achieve better health and reduce healthcare spend.

Jen joined Sun Life U.S. in June 2019 after 18 years with Cigna, where she most recently served as chief operating officer for Cigna’s middle markets business. She held several senior leadership positions at Cigna in U.S. commercial healthcare, spanning national accounts to small business lines, and including clinical operations, strategic implementation, underwriting and stop-loss.

Jen is passionate about improving the healthcare experience for all. She oversees PinnacleCare, a care navigation company acquired by Sun Life in 2021 that guides people through the healthcare system when diagnosed with a serious medical condition. Jen also oversees Sun Life’s Clinical 360 program, which combines data analytics and clinical expertise to identify cost-containment opportunities for employers and improved treatment options for members.

An ardent supporter of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), Jen serves as the executive sponsor of HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Leaders and Achievers), one of Sun Life’s Inclusion Networks. She is also the U.S. representative of Sun Life’s Global Sustainability Executive Council. 

Jen is a registered nurse and holds an MBA in finance and marketing. She received her nursing degree from Saint Joseph College and her MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
